Flexible alternative to "hard rock" solutions for coastal Works
The use of specialist geosynthetics for hydraulic applications has become increasingly popular prac- in the past decade, especially as a replacement to hard rock armour systems. Rather than using sandbags or hard rock systems, Maccaferri now offers ELCO-Rock, a special non-woven geotextile tube manufactured from UV-stabilsed polymeric fibres. With their flexibility, robustness and adaptability ELCO-Rock can be filled with sand silts or sludge to form a flexible solution in coastal, river or other dynamic applications where environmental impact must be minimised.
