Meet the Productspec Team

Estefania Galinanes-Garcia, Managing Director

Estefania is a registered Architect, a New Zealand Institute of Architects [NZIA] member and prior to co-founding Productspec, was a practicing Architect and a course co-ordinator at Victoria University, School of Architecture.

She holds a BA Hons in Architecture from Manchester University, a Bachelor in Fine Art from Wimbledon School of Art, and a Diploma of Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.

Estefania has a professional background in Architecture & Design, Project Management, and Business Systems Analytics now leveraging these skills to manage both the Productspec office and key project developments.

Jon L Thompson, Director - Sales & Marketing

Jon has been involved in the design, fabrication, and construction sectors and prior to co-founding Productspec, was a course co-ordinator and design tutor at Victoria University School of Architecture.

He holds a BSc in Architecture from Dundee University and a Diploma in Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.

Jon has a voracious, dynamic and entrepreneurial nature and manages Productspec Business Development, key Productspec accounts, the Productspec Sales Team and all marketing activity.

Janelle Fenwick, Client Solutions Manager

Janelle leads the Auckland sales team, establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing Productspec customers to understand their unique business requirements and provide effective marketing solutions.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Auckland University and is a consummate and organised professional with a passion for people.

Katie Smith, Client Solutions Executive

Katie is an energetic and vibrant member of the Auckland based Client Solutions team servicing the greater Auckland region. She is passionate about quality and knowledgeable service, and enjoys public speaking and interacting with both new business and agency clients.

Katie has an extensive background in customer solutions, running her own hugely successful marketing business from a young age prior to an overseas hiatus.

John Lumsden, Advisory Board Chairman

John is serving his second year as President of the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce following a 15-year tenure as CEO of the Meteorological Service of New Zealand where he was elected to the Executive Council of the World Meteorological Organization, a UN Specialised Agency.

In early 2007 he was appointed to the Board of Refugee Services Aotearoa New Zealand, to the Establishment and then Full Board of Grow Wellington, as the Establishment Chairman of Aviation NZ, as an Advisory Body Member of the Export Education Innovation Programme, and recently to the Board of Windsor Engineering Group Limited.

John is also a Director of Cuthbert Stewart Limited and Moxie Design Group Limited and was a finalist in the 2005 Wellingtonian of the Year Awards.

He has a B.Sc. in Applied Science (Mechanical) from St. Andrews University, Scotland, holds a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD) in NZ, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Meteorology in London, a Member of the Royal Society of New Zealand, is a member of the Wellington Club, and convivially he is President of the Wellington Beefsteak and Burgundy Club.

Andrew Gibbs, Advisory Board Member [Financial]

Andrew is a partner in the Wellington office of Deloitte. He joined the firm in 1986 and his work experience includes long term postings with the firm in London, Poland and the former Soviet Union.

Andrew has had a wide experience of audit, investigation and advisory work performed in connection with restructuring and privatisation of industry sectors, outsourcing, feasibility studies and business planning. Additionally Andrew is an active member of the Deloitte Agribusiness sector group with a lead role in the fishing sector.

Andrew is a member of ICANZ, Institute of Directors, NZ Computer Society, NZTE Enterprise Forum Group and Export NZ Group.

Fanny Toorenburg, Advisory Board Member [Business Systems]

Fanny joined Productspec Advisory Board last year to complement the team with her extensive team leadership, management, strategic planning and reporting knowledge. She has 10 years experience in the geospatial industry with leading NZ mapping companies and brings excellent insights into databases, data dissemination and setting up contractual agreements in the digital space.

Fanny is a member of the Spatial Science Institute and an Associate Member of the NZ Institute of Management. She was finalist for the Wellington 2007 NZIM Young Executive of the Year Award.

Chad Graybeal, Systems Architect

Chad is a senior Systems Architect with 15 years international experience in the IT sector in both a consulting and development capacity.

He holds a BA Hons in Computer Information Systems & Business Administration from Appalachian State University, North Carolina.

Chad is responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of all Productspec technical developments and IT / web systems.

Zinder Zhao, CAD Technician & 3d Animator

Zinder is passionate about Technical Drafting, Rendering, Material / Product knowledge, and IT / Digital Design & Animation.

She holds a Building Science degree from Victoria University, Wellington, and is responsible for the creation of 3-dimensional objects, animations, and CAD details for Productspec clients.

BiYing He, Product Data Technician

BiYing holds a degree in Business Computing from Massey University and has a passion for accurate Data Entry, Information Technology, and office administration.

BiYing oversees the addition of all product data within the Productspec database.

Byron Kinnaird, Spe[a]k Editor

Byron is a writer and educator, currently teaching at Victoria University, School of Architecture within the Interior, Landscape and Architecture programmes.

He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Victoria University, and is currently specialising his practice in architectural journalism and education.

With a fascination for research, exposition and critique, Byron has collaboratively developed Spe[a]k to embody these qualities and thereby engage meaningfully with the broad spectrum of Productspec users. Byron is also a Committee Member of the Architecture Centre, and protagonist for alternative opportunistic modes of architectural practice.
