Ace Birdproofing Systems Ltd specialise in structural bird proofing and work with specifiers and ‘end-users’ throughout New Zealand.

The main species causing nuisance in NZ are gulls, pigeons along with other urban species like starlings, mynahs, sparrows and swallows. Of increasing significance are some larger birds found in the rural or forest environments.

Typical installations include the use of BirdNet™ to fully net down the exterior of commercial buildings or, underneath canopies of warehouses and stores; Avipoint™ or BirdWire™ or Bird Shock™ system to restrict perching or roosting on ledges, parapets and ridges of apartments and other commercial or industrial buildings; and protecting all manner of electrical installations including signage and lighting. Many heritage buildings have had their architectural features bird proofed, while bridges too, can benefit from protecting steelwork from corrosive bird guano. There are few limits when applying these environmentally friendly and safe solutions.

Assistance is available in the specifying of systems which will either exclude or reduce the presence of nuisance birds on, or within most structures. In addition to considering clients design proposals, and the supply of products, Ace will undertake the installation and subsequent maintenance of their proofing systems.

These systems require to be customized to the problems anticipated or, currently experienced by clients. Solutions often require a mix of products and proofing techniques and this is where more than 60 years combined experience of the Ace team’s two Principals shows through.
