Antipodes Design Store has been created by fifth generation New Zealander, Rod Hanna. Rod is a passionate advocate of local design. "Furniture like that from Noho Design is a demonstration of the emergence of sophisticated local design blended with exceptional craftsmanship. A distinctive New Zealand design style is evolving - it has a natural rawness, influenced by our country and lifestyle, is uncomplicated yet at the same time sophisticated" say Rod Hanna.

Having owned successful furniture business Designers' Collection for six years, designing and tailor-making furniture exclusively for the clients of Interior Designers and Architects around New Zealand, Rod has become frustrated by the prevalence of imported furniture and accessories in a market which has so much high quality local product on offer. It has become increasingly difficult for local design talent to get their work marketed. As such, Antipodes Design Store is fervently promoting outstanding local design.

Our Furniture Consultants, Jackie Brewer & Sarah Powrie have a combined 34 years experience in the design industry. Jackie has an indepth knowledge of furniture and fabrics - almost as indepth as her knowledge of shopping! Sarah has managed to accumulate a substantial knowledge of furniture and interior design whilst raising world champion sailors in her spare time.
