Clipsal started as a family owned business and grew from humble origins. Alfred Gerard founded the company in 1920, in the days when most homes featured external wiring. At that time cables would be placed along walls, housed inside metal conduits. Conduit diameters would often vary, making them difficult to fit together. This problem was overcome by the devlopment of an ingenious range of adjustable conduit fittings that "clips all" sizes of conduit. This innovation was an immediate success and the famous Clipsal brand name, as we know it, was born.
Today the Clipsal product range is truly vast, with the company producing many thousands of products for residential, data, industrial and home automation markets. The Clipsal brand is synonomous with quality and innovation.
