Adonz Mouldings Canterbury Limited
Adonz® Architectural Mouldings have been manufactured under licence by Adonz Mouldings Canterbury Ltd. since 2001, the business being established to meet a request from the plastering trade to provide alternative hard-coated polystyrene profiles of a good quality and at a reasonable price. Innovative use of modern high-tech materials has enabled the development of a specialised coating system for polystyrene formwork.
The company has focused on this area and has rapidly developed to be a leading supplier of pre-coated architectural trim, suitable for all plaster systems.
A limited stock range of mouldings in common usage is held with other sizes and profiles being cut and coated to the specifier's requirements. Not only do Adonz® mouldings increase design options but achieve considerable construction time savings where plaster is being used - no matter the substrate - polystyrene, fibre-cement board, concrete, brick and block, Hebel, Celcrete etc. Preferred by the trade, Adonz® mouldings give a neater, faster and better end result.
About Mouldings - why have them ?
Not just another cost and not always just decorative, mouldings may also perform useful functions:
1. Complementing the primary weatherproofing system
2. Assisting with water run-off the exterior cladding and stain reduction
3. Camouflaging unsightly construction jointing
4. On long flat surfaces, very minor undulations will show unfavourably. Incorporating architectural profiles into the building design will assist in reducing the effect of glancing light on these surfaces.
Many building owners spend a large amount of time and money on the interior but then can be let down by an unattractive exterior.
Unfortunately, whether in an attempt to show clean lines - which can be very attractive with the right design - or simply to cut costs, it is often commented that many of our newer buildings end up as featureless boxes. If the initial planning had incorporated the judicious use of mouldings, this plain look could have been avoided.
Re-modelling and retrofitting mouldings may also provide a positive transformation to many properties. The capital outlay involved will, in many cases, be off-set by an increase in value and in the case of home-owners, the enjoyment of living in a property that is visually appealing.
